Description
Even well-designed training can fail when learners choose not to apply parts of it on the job. While many learning and development (L&D) professionals focus on content quality and delivery, the real challenge often lies after training ends: whether employees actually use what they learned in real-world settings.
This webinar introduces a practical framework for understanding learner rejection as a hidden barrier to training transfer. Rather than viewing resistance as disengagement or lack of motivation, this session reframes it as a signal that motivation to transfer has broken down.
Participants will explore why learners selectively reject training content, how motivation influences transfer before, during, and after training, and what L&D professionals can do to reduce rejection and increase application. Drawing on transfer research and real-world examples, this session provides actionable strategies to strengthen learner buy-in, reinforce application, and improve on-the-job performance.
Attendees will leave with practical tools to design more relevant training experiences, support learners beyond the classroom, and ensure that training leads to measurable performance outcomes.
