Description
Designing inaccessible presentations can exclude much more of your audience than you may think. Everyone can have different needs at different times, and with the rise of online presentations, you have even less control over their environment. Arguably, accessible design has never been so important.
This session looks at core accessibility requirements and how you can incorporate them into your presentations and other PowerPoint-based content. You’ll see what the various requirements are, and how applying them not only helps those with accessibility needs, but everyone else in your audience. The use of color, contrast, readability, and redundancy are simple but effective techniques that will be demonstrated live with tools to help you achieve success more easily. Along with ideas to remove unnecessary distractions, present more inclusively, and distribute content that is accessible to all.
1. Understand the importance of accessible design and how much of your audience could be affected.
2. Incorporate design principles to improve the accessibility and effectiveness of your PowerPoint slides.
3. Test whether slides would pass Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and use techniques to improve accessibility whilst staying on brand.
