Description

Research shows that MOST multiple-choice questions include mistakes that damage assessment quality and validity. These mistakes lead to frustration and unfair assessments. They supply bad or unusable data about whether test-takers gained needed knowledge and skills.

In this session, we’ll look in depth at five common mistakes made by question writers including mistakes that make guessing easier, which we don't want to do! You’ll gain practice and improve your multiple-choice question-writing skills.

In this session, you’ll:
  • Evaluate how question-writing mistakes damage assessment validity and fairness
  • Analyze the top 5 multiple-choice question-writing mistakes
  • Practice fixing these multiple-choice question-writing mistakes
