Chris Knowlton is a passionate technology leader for products that empower organizations by unlocking the power of video. He has spent the last 22 years identifying, building, and evangelizing strategic video solutions to real-world customer challenges for schools and businesses of all sizes. A recognized industry authority, Chris was honored in 2011 as a Streaming Media All-Star by Streaming Media magazine for his impact on the industry and holds several patents for streaming software technologies.
Before Panopto, Chris held product management and executive roles at Wowza Media Systems, BlueFrame Technology, and Microsoft. He helped set cross-product strategies for numerous on-premises and cloud video delivery technologies, including Wowza Streaming Engine, Wowza Cloud, Windows Media Services, Smooth Streaming, Azure Media Services, and Microsoft Stream. Before focusing exclusively on software, Chris worked in alliance management at NetApp and at several Tier 1 automotive suppliers. He holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University.
