With the current explosion in e-Learning and mobile learning, it has become popular for companies to institute massive teaching programs to engage their learners and up their understanding of the industry. While this in itself is a wonderful thing, it can have the unfortunate side effect of wasting company time and money by teaching people who already know enough about a particular subject.
That’s where pre-assessment comes in. Pre-assessment can preempt any waste of time and money by determining who will and will not benefit from a certain course, and keep employees who don’t need the knowledge at their desks or stations working (where most would rather be anyway!). In addition, pre-assessment can offer other valuable insights about employees’ learning preferences, style and needs.

Many of our customers are struggling to tailor e-Learning for learners with different levels of expertise. The bright side here is that with iSpring, there’s no need to create a bunch of separate presentations. It’s easy to create a structured course with an individual learning path for each group of learners.
Branching scenarios are great for course creators who:
Have several quizzes of different complexity;
Have the same quiz in several languages.
To dive deeper into the topic, we welcome you to discover this case from Kate, our tech support engineer.Read more »

Screen recording is extremely useful in any tool for creating training materials, demonstrating computer software or services, or simply guiding viewers through your materials. Screen recording is also sometimes called screen capture.
While screen recording is a vital addition, not every e-Learning authoring toolkit offers it. iSpring Suite 8 has been enhanced to include this essential feature with all necessary options: hotkeys, sound recording, mouse cursor highlighting, etc.
No more extra software to do what you need to do: everything is available right from your PowerPoint with iSpring Suite 8!

Today, about 10 in the morning, I launched my Kickstarter Campaign. It's now about 12 hours later and already the campaign is 30% to its goal. Un-freakin-believable! Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
For me, I'm awestruck. And grateful -- deeply grateful to those who have pledged to contribute should the campaign reach it's goal.
Thank you!
I am Grateful to Many
This book would not be possible without:
academic researchers, journals, libraries, and database developers.
all the folks who have given me wisdom about book publishing and concrete help.
all the folks who have reached out over the last 17 years to thank me for my research-to-practice work.
my clients who help pay the bills and inspire me with their dedication and passion.
the learning-measurement experts who helped me improve the book immeasurably (get it!?).
the folks who read an early version of the book and offered a testimonial.
the astonishing generosity of the folks who read early versions of the book and gave me detailed substantive feedback.
the extreme and longstanding patience and forbearance of my wife and daughter, and the humor and support of my extended family.
Now I have more people to thank...
Those who interrupted their day to make a Kickstarter pledge in the early hours of this campaign. This is very important -- the Kickstarter experts tell me. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Wow! I'm buzzing with warm fuzzies... Thank you!

In just two short weeks, the Kickstarter Campaign to get my book printed and marketed has reached it's goal!!
Over 160 people made pledges, selecting Kickstarter rewards to get over 200 copies of the book: Performance-Focused Smile Sheets: A Radical Rethinking of a Dangerous Art Form.
While I was nervous at first as I launched my campaign, I couldn't be more thrilled that so many people have showed interest in the book! And in the summertime no less!
I'm deeply grateful to all those who pledged to contribute! Thank you everyone!!
===============
Kickstarter Campaigns can't be turned off once started, and this one is still scheduled to continue through September 4th.
If you or your organization is interested in getting a copy of the book at a discount, this will be your best chance!
There are also some very attractive rewards that are offered, including some new ones that were just added in the last few hours.

Appleasement.
Don’t know of you can see that slide but it says "Appleasement: An appeasing of teacher intent to teach through the pleasing of teacher ego for the least possible resistance to learning."
Appleasement is a made up word that was presented at the NTAC 2015 Ignite keynote session by Matt Pagano and Brad Paquette.
Appleasement, they explained, is the situation that occurs in the classroom where students learn to put up with whatever the teacher is doing in the class whether it is good teaching or not, because it is easier to not put up a fight for better learning than not. Worksheet? No problem. Listen to your lecture? No problem. Can we do some problem based learning? Nope, I don’t have it in my playbook kid.
Appleasement has to do with the teacher’s ego, where what the teacher is doing is all important, and needs of the students come in second.
Does "appleasement" happen in your campus? How do you fix it if it does?
