Diving into LOD Expressions - Week 3By Bethany Lyons
Mar 3, 2015
This post will continue to look at examples of typical analytic questions that all share the common property of requiring us to aggregate data on different levels than the main focus of the visualization, such as the following: What is the largest deal closed per salesperson, and the average of these deals per country? What is the cumulative number of customers acquired per day by market? What is the difference in year to date profit of this year versus last year, relative to the last day the data was refreshed?

All the Things: Data Visualization in a World of Connected DevicesBy Michelle Wallace
Feb 11, 2015
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a powerful ecosystem. Devices or "things"—encompassing everything from pedometers to seismographs—are producing unprecedented amounts of data about the world around us. When put in the hands of everyday people, this information has the power to make every area of life more data-driven.
"Things" aren't really a new concept. After all, we've been using sensors to collect scientific data for centuries. What's different now is the interconnectedness of all these devices, the fact that they're producing ever more granular data sets—and the increasing access to both these devices and the data they're producing.
But once we have all this data, what do we do with it?

Instead of enjoying the season we’re in, we keep looking forward to a rebirth in the next season to come. Don’t get me wrong, I am enjoying the thaw that is finally upon us and am glad to see the snow start to dissipate. I think many HR pros look at their career with the same anticipation they have with the changing of the seasons. There seems to be a push that ANYTHING would be better than the...

Los Angeles is home to the second-largest metropolitan economy in the United States, but did you know that it is also the birthplace of an array of pop culture standards? The electric guitar, the bathing suit and the skateboard were all developed here, along with several high-tech innovations like the Mars rover and the F-117, the first stealth fighter built for the United States military.
