Training is not a one and done event. There has to be a refresh component to counter the forgetting curve. And also, there has to be an overall transfer of learning process surrounding the training, including follow-up and coaching.  But with all this, we're just talking about training on specific skills. There's a higher-level strategic issues surrounding training that we also need to discuss.  This is more than one training topic or even a series of programs.  You need to be thinking about how training is driving the overall competitive capabilities of your organization.
