About Saul Carliner
Saul Carliner is an associate professor with the graduate program in Educational Technology at Concordia University in Montreal. His teaching and research focus on the design of materials to support learning and communication in the workplace, and the management of groups that produce these materials. Also an industry consultant, he provides strategic planning and evaluation services, as well as seminars. Clients include Alltel Wireless, Bell Canada, IBM, Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre, Microsoft, and several US and Canadian federal agencies.
Among his many books and publications are Informal Learning Basics (2011, ASTD Press). He serves on the board and chairs the Certification Steering Committee for the Canadian Society for Training and Development, is the incoming editor of the IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication, and is a fellow and past international president of the Society for Technical Communication.
