Organizations need to know that investments in people, programs, and projects address business needs and deliver meaningful results. The ROI Methodology provides a systematic approach to making that connection, beginning with clear needs and objectives and continuing through evaluation of the measures that matter.

In this lab, you’ll explore how to distinguish a program’s effects from other influences, assign monetary value to improvements, and compare those benefits with program costs to calculate ROI.

Whether your program helps increase output, reduce errors, save time, or avoid costs, these techniques can help you build a more credible account of its value. You’ll also strengthen your ability to answer stakeholders’ questions and use evaluation findings to improve future programs.

1. Isolate program effects: Explore techniques to determine how much of an improvement is attributable to your program.

2. Convert improvements to money: Translate changes in business measures into monetary benefits.

3. Calculate ROI: Compare monetary benefits with program costs to determine the return on investment.
