Description

Hey! Are you an instructional designer stuck in the same pattern of thinking around new employee orientation? This session is for all instructional designers, regardless of tenure, to help you break out of the conventional way of handling training for new hire orientation.

I’ll give you 5 key things you can think about to change your new hire orientation courses or other programs by connecting compliance, job responsibilities, and core company values with relatable characters and experiences. Me? I created a TV series that we can add to in the future. You can do it too!

Key takeaways:
  • Help learners to see themselves in their new role
  • Use current trends to engage learners and make it feel relevant
  • Incorporate microlearning to bring in topics that don't demand as much focus
  • Weave story into the eLearning orientation experience
  • Use a variety of opportunities for interaction to engage the learner
