About Karl Kapp, Ed.D., CFPIM, CIRM
Karl M. Kapp, Ed.D., CFPIM, CIRM, professor of Instructional Technology at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA and author of five books including the best selling "The Gamification of Learning and Instruction". Karl blogs at the popular “Kapp Notes” and is a frequent international keynote speaker, workshop leader, moderator, and panelist at conferences as well as events for private corporations and universities. He is a Co-Principle Investigator on two National Science Foundation (NSF) grants dealing with simulation development. He consultants with many organizations including Pearson, where Karl’s role was to help guide the addition of game-elements to high stakes test preparation in a project called Zeos Academy. Since that time, the product has been highly successful creating engaged and motivated learners as they prepare for high-stakes testing.
About Dr. Tony O’Driscoll
Tony O’Driscoll is Global Head of Duke CE Labs, and Lecture Fellow at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. This dual-role affords Tony the opportunity to operate at the intersection of cutting-edge academic research in business and the design of groundbreaking leadership development interventions.
During his 18-year corporate career, Tony held several strategic leadership positions. He was a founding member of IBM Global Service’s Strategy and Change consulting practice where he consulted at the highest level with business executives on creating a sustainable competitive advantage in increasingly complex environments. He also served as a member IBM’s Almaden Services Research group where he investigated the changing roles of leadership, innovation, and collaboration as enterprises become more global, virtual, open and digitally mediated. At both IBM and Nortel Networks, Tony had responsibility for crafting and implementing enterprise-level human performance and learning strategies.
Tony has authored and co-authored articles for business periodicals such as Harvard Business Review, The Financial Times, Strategy and Business, CLO Magazine and Dialogue. He also writes a regular column for Training Magazine entitled “Learning Matters.” Tony has also published two books on Organization Performance and Learning: Achieving Desired Business Performance, and Learning in 3D: Adding a New Dimension to Enterprise Learning and Collaboration.
Tony’s current research and practice examine how rapidly emerging technologies are disrupting existing industry structures and business models. He specifically focuses on how to develop leadership systems that enable organizations to adapt and evolve in increasingly unpredictable and turbulent business environments.

About David Metcalf, Ph.D.
David Metcalf has more than 20 years' experience in the design and research of web-based and mobile technologies converging to enable learning and healthcare.
Dr. Metcalf is Director of the Mixed Emerging Technology Integration Lab (METIL) at UCF's Institute for Simulation and Training. The team has built mHealth solutions, simulations, games, eLearning, mobile and enterprise IT systems for Google, J&J, VA, U.S. military and UCF's College of Medicine among others. Recent projects include Lake Nona’s Intelligent Home prototype and SignificantTechnology, a mobile-enabled online degree and eResource kit.
Dr. Metcalf encourages spinoffs from the lab as part of the innovation process and has launched Moving Knowledge and several other for-profit and nonprofit ventures as examples. In addition to research and commercial investments, he supports social entrepreneurship in education and health.
Dr. Metcalf continues to bridge the gap between corporate learning and simulation techniques and non-profit and social entrepreneurship. Simulation, mobilization, mobile patient records and medical decision support systems, visualization systems, scalability models, secure mobile data communications, gaming, innovation management and operational excellence are current research topics.
Dr. Metcalf frequently presents at industry and research events shaping business strategy and use of technology to improve learning, health and human performance.
