Description

We ourselves are in the midst of the “Great Pause” or “Great Reflection.” We prefer these descriptions because we remind ourselves of this significant silver lining during this Pandemic -  we now have more time to reflect. Reflection is very critical and key in today’s learning.

The challenge, however, is that most of us are production and deliverables-oriented.  We count seat hours, passing scores, number of sessions, number of people trained, but rarely do we consider the importance of “Reflection Moments.” From our learners' and workers' point of view, they find themselves in the same rut. We concern ourselves with faster, faster, and even faster production, but rarely do we allow more room for finding happy pursuits. We are stuck with the “necessities of work.” No wonder we welcome the “Great Pause.”

It does not have to be this way. As learning leaders, designers, developers, trainers, and experts, you can add the element of “Happy Pursuits” to the usual “Necessities of Work” learning projects.

Topics to cover:
  • What do scientists say about the relationship between “Happy Pursuits,” “Necessities of Work,” and work results?
  • What makeup “Necessities of Work” and “Happy Pursuits”?
  • Why are traditional learning principles counterproductive to “Happy Pursuits?”
  • How do you apply and add these three reflection tools in your learning projects?
  • Triple-Learning Loop Tool
  • Curiosity Learning Tool
  • Recursive Learning Tool

How do you apply these tools to help learners meet a balance between “Necessities of Work” and “Happy Pursuits”?Learn from three cases where each tool is applied and have shown results.
