Problem: I work at a school where YouTube is blocked. Anyone know how to embed a non-YouTube video (or HTML) in Slides?Alternative Solution:I don't know of any way to embed a non-Youtube video in Slides. Here's an alternative approach:Take a picture of the video hosted in Google Drive (which shouldn't be blocked since it's GoogleApps and you have unlimited storage), then paste the image on the slideLink the image to the view screen, then you can Click on it during the presentation. Be aware of the note to get it to autoplay.Video Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzgfbQxbeqTITVQwZVRwRlhNd0U/view?autostart="true"(Note: The boldface is what I added to the link to make it autoplay)Video Link embedded in Slides: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1PuOuHXuMoU_NCIN8a593Zc1__qeqWXu2uppro02qC0s/edit?usp=sharingIf someone knows a better way, I hope they will share it!:-)Everything posted on Miguel Guhlin's blogs/wikis are his personal opinion and do not necessarily represent the views of his employer(s) or its clients. My name is Miguel Guhlin, and I just had to share something that happened recently with you. If you haven’t had the opportunity to control a drone in flight, then you’ve been missing out. When my son and I flew a drone, using the free TickleApp on an iPhone to program its movement, you could feel the excitement. There’s nothing so exciting as seeing your programming come alive in the movements of a drone.Everything posted on Miguel Guhlin's blogs/wikis are his personal opinion and do not necessarily represent the views of his employer(s) or its clients. The following post originally appeared on TCEA's TechNotes Blog! Be sure to check it out at http://www.tcea.org/technotes"My principal wants me to use anchor charts, or at least, hang some on the walls" an experienced teacher told me recently. "I’m just not sure I get the value." I immediately started to explain why anchor charts are so important, and then sputtered to a stop, like a car running out of gas, realizing that I could not articulate why they were beneficial. In this blog entry, let’s explore the benefits of anchor charts, phrase walls, and technology for use in English Language Learner (ELL) classrooms. Of course, these approaches work for monolingual classes as well.Read the rest online at TechNotes.Image SourceCharacter Traits.
