I would prevent myself from falling into this trap by thinking before I post something. If i’m not sure if this will affect me in the future or prevent me from getting a scholarship I probably shouldn’t post it. If I only post things that are appropriate than I should have no problem if someone googles me.  Also if my friend posts a picture with me and it is not very appropriate I need to ask them to remove it because it will still affect me.  If a college is considering giving me a scholarship and they find pictures that are not appropriate then there is no way that I will be getting that scholarship.  I should also never post anything that has my personal information on it such as phone number or  address because that can also lead to a lot of trouble. I need to be smart when i’m accepting people to be my friend on social media. I need to make sure that my account is private and that only people I personally know are following me.   By taking these proper precautions I should have no problems.

Once I decided I was going to teaching Digital Citizenship to my 6-8 middle school students it’s was brought to my attention of producing student reflections & insights through creating blog posts on teacher given scenarios. This is a great methodology that allows teachers to see students reflections, insights, as well as allowing students to collaborate with one another.  Student Case Study Sampe: CaseStudy1
